Playbox's with Playful Anywhere
In Spring 2024, I met and began collaborating with Emma Bearman of Playful Anywhere (a Leeds-based social enterprise with a mission to catalyse creativity, inventiveness and playfulness, where we work, live and travel)
We have since worked together on a series of Playful Projects across Yorkshire (and North Lincolnshire), co-creating with local communities, councils, people and fellow playful artists.
In October 2024, I was part of the first Leeds Festival of Play and Creativity. As part of the festival I delivered a Den Building event at Kirkgate Market with over 100 members of the public taking part. I also activated play as part of the festival outside Leeds Art Gallery in Victoria Square.

Lincoln Green
(July & September '24)
Community based project, in the heart of the housing in Lincoln Green area of Leeds. A Playbox was installed on the green space and was open for the local families for a 2 week long residencies (after school and on weekends). Play happened in all weathers.
Children led on using the space to play: creating marble runs, building dens, inventing games, making friends, setting up cafes, bubbles, playing in the rain.
Doncaster
(September '24)
This project was a council commissioned week long residency in the town centre of Doncaster. Was an opportunity for anyone passing to take part in play.
I created a sensory space inside one of the Pink Playbox's that our youngest visitors could sit inside.
Scunthorpe
(May '24)
This 2 day residency was council commissioned as part of a larger play event taking part on the council square development.
